How To Replace Pallet Jack Steer Wheels

You are planning to replace the steer wheels on your jack but need a few pointers on how to go about it.

Tools Needed

• Flathead screwdriver
• 6” snap ring pliers

Steps to Replace Your Pallet Jack Steer Wheels

1. Turn over the pallet jack
2. Remove hubcaps
3. Remove snap ring
4. Pivot handle to remove wheels
5. Install wheels
6. Turn pallet jack upright
7. Bleed air out of the hydraulic unit of the pallet jack

Remove Hub Caps

1. Use flat head screwdriver
2. Wedge it between the hubcap and wheel until the cap pops off

Remove Snap Ring

1. Use small 6” snap ring pliers
2. Remove snap rings

Pivot Handle To Remove Wheels

You will need to slide the handle one direction to get one wheel off, then the other direction to remove the next wheel.

Install New Steer Wheels Onto Pallet Jack

1. Install one wheel on the axle
2. Install the washer
3. Install the snap ring
4. Install the hubcap
5. Repeat with other wheel

Turn Pallet Jack Upright

Gently flip the pallet jack upright to its normal use position so that you can bleed the air and use the jack appropriately.

Bleed The Air From The System

While upside down, the jack could have accumulated air in its system. Ensure that there is no air by bleeding the syste.

1. Lower the jack
2. Put handle in release position
3. Pump the handle through its full range of motion 6 times
